Charlie Heldt joined the SCEC team on January 2nd as a Field Service/Metering Technician within the Operations department. Charlie will be responsible for installing, replacing, maintaining and testing our meters. He will also troubleshoot any meters that are not communicating their readings to the office.
Charlie grew up in Hudson and graduated from Northwood Technical College in New Richmond with a degree in Welding. After working as a welder for a year, he was accepted into an apprenticeship program to become an electrician. Charlie worked for six years as an electrician before coming to work at SCEC. He feels many of the skills he learned as an electrician will benefit him out in the field. Charlie likes talking with people and looks forward to working with SCEC members.
Charlie and his wife Sonja, who is a teacher in Amery, currently live in the Hudson area. They have just purchased land and are planning on building their home in Hammond. Charlie enjoys fishing, hunting, riding motorcycle, and just about anything that gets him outdoors.
