Due to predicted severe weather across the Midwest, after-hours callers may experience extended hold times when trying to reach our Call Center.
Cooperative Response Center, a nationwide, cooperatively owned and operated 24/7 contact center that provides SCEC’s after-hours dispatch, round-the-clock consumer care and monitoring of personal medical alarm systems, anticipates a Peak Call Volume event, with higher-than-normal call volumes and extended hold times expected.
In most cases, members’ meters report outages before callers can even finish dialing the reporting number, and our recently updated Automated Outage Reporting Line integrates with our Outage Management System and announces to callers if we are aware of an outage in their area.
Outages can also be reported through SmartHub, our online customer portal available on the web as an app on your mobile device. Again, this integrates with our Outage Management System and will display a message as soon as you Log In if an Outage has been reported in your area.
If you experience flickering lights it may be due to galloping lines, read more here.
