St. Croix Electric Cooperative’s mission is to enhance the lives of our members and strengthen the communities where they live by providing superior electric and other valued services. One of those valued services is FirstCall Medical Monitoring.
SCEC President & CEO Brian Zelenak’s mother is a FirstCall Medical Monitoring customer. Knowing his mom can receive help at the push of a button gives Brian peace of mind.
SCEC began offering FirstCall nearly two decades ago when leadership recognized a need for a local medical monitoring service. Today, customers live not only within SCEC’s electric service area but also as far south as Hager City, as far east as Menomonie and as far north as Amery.
There is no contract for FirstCall Medical Monitoring service and plans begin at $27.50 per month (including taxes). Fall detection can be added to a plan for less than $4 per month. The most advanced system available for an extra charge uses the nearest cellular tower (the legacy system requires a landline).
The emergency response operators who answer when the call button is pressed are located at the Cooperative Response Center (CRC), which also answers outage and emergency calls for us after hours and on weekends.
