NOW HIRING: 1,000-hour apprentice/groundman/laborer

St. Croix Electric Cooperative in Hammond, Wisconsin is seeking a 1,000-hour entry-level employee for the construction season. The position requires a valid CDL; a Certificate of Completion from an approved Electric Power Distribution School; the ability to lift/pull 50 pounds and climb; and a motivated personality willing to assist Linemen in any way needed throughout the season.

OUTAGE: 4/11/2019

OUTAGE UPDATE @ 3:15 pm: There is a tree on the line at County Road B and 50th Avenue causing the outage near the St. Croix-Pierce County line. A second crew with another bucket truck has been dispatched to cut the tree off the line. Restoral is estimated at  approximately 4 p.m..

Bylaw changes make elections more economical & efficient

Bylaw revisions adopted by the members at the Annual Meeting held Saturday, April 13, 2019 make it easier for members to run for and elect Directors, as well as streamlining the process to make it more economical and efficient.

2019 Election information

All three St. Croix Electric Cooperative Director incumbents whose terms are up in 2019 are running unopposed on the ballot, but there is once again a race in District 8 to fill out the term vacated by Derrick Oberle, who was elected to his fourth term in 2018.

OUTAGE: 3/29/2019

At approximately 10:20 a.m. on Friday, March 29 a St. Croix Electric Cooperative member dropped a tree through the line on their property leaving nearly 100 members in the Towns of Kinnickinnc and Troy temporarily without power. Power was restored by 11 a.m. for all but two members.

82nd Annual Meeting set for April 13

St. Croix Electric Cooperative's 82nd Annual Meeting of members will be held Saturday, April 13 at St. Croix Central High School in Hammond with breakfast being served from 8-9:30 AM and the meeting beginning at 9:35 AM.

March 14 outage update

Flooding as the result of culverts jammed by ice caused an outage leaving approximately 225 St. Croix Electric Cooperative members without electricity in the morning hours of Thursday, March 14.

Outage: 3/14/2019

UPDATE @11:30AM: All members are back on in the Hudson area except for two accounts. Due to the nature of the problem, the switchgear is bypassed and will need to be addressed later when the water line recedes.

UPDATE @ 9:45AM: Country Wood West has been restored, leaving approximately 50 customers remaining without power. A skid steer and transfer pump are en route to clear snow and drain water to access the switch gear cabinet and restore power to the remainder of members.

Committee nominates 2019 BOD candidates

On Tuesday, Feb. 26, the 2019 St. Croix Electric Cooperative Nominating Committee nominated the following slate of candidates to appear on ballots to be mailed the last week of March to members in districts 1, 4, 7 and 8:
