A crew has been dispatched to investigate an outage affecting 150+ members in the Town of Hudson & surrounding area. Estimated time of restoration is unavailable until the cause has been determined. 

OUTAGE: 7/19/2019

FRI, JULY 19, 6PM: MAJOR STORM DAMAGE in Polk/Barron County has caused widespread outages in the northeastern section of SCEC territory. Major transmission lines and substations down. Balsam Lake area hit especially hard. Crews are working to restore power. Updates will be posted as available.

OUTAGE: 6/19/2019

Wednesday, June 19, 2019: Approximately 980 SCEC members in and around the Town of Hudson were without power from 3:11 am - 5 am. SCEC's TroutBrook substation receives power from Xcel Energy. Early this morning a failure occurred on Xcel's transformer, causing a fire that resulted in SCEC equipment losing power. Xcel rerouted the feed through a different transformer and restored power to SCEC equipment and members.

2019 Cycle 1 grants awarded

At their June meeting, St. Croix Electric Cooperative’s (SCEC) Board of Directors allocated $7,550 to 18 local organizations via its Commitment to Community grant program.

2019 Construction Season underway

One of the first projects of SCEC's 2019 construction season is replacing 3.4 miles of overhead line and poles on 30th Avenue in the Town of Rush River. Another crew is working to switch overhead lines to underground in the area of Boardman.

Policy 705: Schedule of Billing Charges

At their June 3, 2019 meeting the St. Croix Electric Cooperative Board of Directors approved changes to Policy 705: Schedule of Billing Charges.
