Co-op Month Events Announced!

October is National Co-op Month! As a way to recognize and thank St. Croix Electric Cooperative's 11,000+ members for their patronage, Fridays at St. Croix Electric Cooperative returns each Friday of Co-op Month (8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.)! Fall refreshments will be available, as well as a chance for members to enter into a weekly drawing for either a $50 bill credit or small toolkit. Members unable to visit the office can participate in Friday Co-op Trivia on the Co-op's Facebook page (click here for social media contest rules). Members who leave their answer in the "Comments" section of the post will also be entered into a drawing for an extra bill credit, which will be announced at the end of the month. Other events during the month:

  • SCEC's Board of Directors approved the retirement (payment) of $1,017,832 in equity capital credits to current and former members from 1997 and a partial retirement to current members from 2014. If you were a member during one or both of those years, check your mid-October or early November bill for your credit! Retired credits more than $100 will be mailed to members via check; all former members due their capital credits will also be mailed a check at the address on-file at the Cooperative. Contact SCEC if you have any questions: 715-796-7000; Mon.-Fri., 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • On Tuesday, Oct. 3, SCEC sponsored the food and helped serve at the monthly Community Supper at Gethsemane Lutheran Church (1350 Florence St., Baldwin). Members from Gethsemane cooked the meal and assisted with serving and clean-up.
  • On Wednesday, Oct. 4, five employees picked up the Co-op's Adopt-A-Highway stretch from I-94 south on Co. Hwy. T to 30th Ave., including the new park-n-ride lot. Employees maintain the section twice each year.

Please join us in our celebration of National Co-op Month! Be sure to look for other local cooperatives who are also recognizing the month and their members!
