Check-in required for all Enviro-Clean drop-offs
ALL items for St. Croix Electric Cooperative’s Enviro-Clean e-cycling program now need to be brought to the back of the building after customers first check-in at the front desk. In the past some items, mostly those for which there is no charge, were collected in the front entryway of the building. All receptacles have now been removed from that space.
As an E-Cycle Wisconsin partner SCEC accepts certain electronics used in homes and schools for electronics recycling. All area residents (members and non-members) are encouraged to drop off their recyclable materials at the Cooperative office in Hammond during normal business hours (M-F 7:30am-4:30pm). SCEC brings this convenience to the local community and our members as a public service. There are fees for some items, these cover some of the expense associated with recycling.
Of note: Household alkaline batteries (AAA, AA, C, D, 9V) do not contain mercury and can be thrown away with household waste.
They are NOT accepted by SCEC’s Enviro-Clean program. There is no charge for rechargeable, ni-cad and lithium batteries.
