2019 Nominating Committee members sought
St. Croix Electric Cooperative is searching for members who reside in Districts 1, 4, 7 and 8
(see map) willing to dedicate time in February toward recruiting and confirming candidates for the 2019 Director Election in their respective district.
Normally each year only three districts have Director positions up for election but due to the resignation of District 8 Director Derrick Oberle FOUR directors will be elected in 2019. The terms for Districts 1, 4 and 7 will be the normal three years, but the term in District 8 is only two years - the time remaining in Oberle’s term (he was re-elected in 2018).
Three members from each district up for election will comprise the 2019 Nominating Committee. The Committee will meet on Tuesday, Feb. 5 to learn about the role of the Nominating Committee, duties of a director, and the process to be followed when identifying and nominating candidates. Committee members will spend the following three weeks talking to members within their district who are interested in running for the Board of Directors. The Committee will gather in late February to discuss potential candidates and confirm the candidate slate for the 2019 election.
Nominating Committee members may not themselves become candidates.
Committee members receive a meeting per diem and mileage reimbursement. Members in Districts 1, 4, 7 and 8 interested in serving on the Nominating Committee may contact SCEC Communications & Events Coordinator Michele DeLong by Wednesday, Jan. 23 at email@example.com or 715-796-5613.
