ELECTRIC SYSTEM OVERVIEW

St. Croix Electric’s wholesale power supplier is Dairyland Power Cooperative (DPC). Located in La Crosse, Wisconsin, DPC provides wholesale electrical power to 25 distribution cooperatives and 17 municipal utilities which in turn supply the energy needs of a half million people within a five-state area including Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois and Michigan. St. Croix Electric is a member of the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA), a service organization dedicated to representing the national interest of cooperative electric utilities and the consumers they serve. NRECA’s electric cooperative and public power district members serve 40 million people in 47 states. Approximately 900 NRECA members are electric distribution systems. NRECA membership includes other organizations formed by these local utilities:

• 60 generation and transmission cooperatives for power supply
• statewide and regional trade and service associations
• supply and manufacturing cooperatives
• data processing cooperatives
• credit unions
